Our circular economy project
Through the Take Back project, we have involved our customers in a circular economy initiative, again with a view to reducing the impacts generated.
Through the program, we recover trimmings directly from the footwear supply chain as well as from the other sectors in which the company operates. Scraps from our customers are collected and returned to the company to be fed into our production process.
This further increases the circularity rate and reduces waste production.
At the end of each year, we issue a certificate to all those customers who have returned trimmings to us with the calculation of an environmental balance sheet based on LCA study.
The project was made possible by an investment in a new dough preparation line.
The initiative enabled us in the three-year period 20-22 to recover 2,376,000 kilograms of trimmings from our customers, which became new fiberboard.
